These edible sugar cookie dough bites are such an easy and fun treat! They're prefect for the holidays, or any time of year when the craving strikes! I love sugar cookies, and I'm not sure why edible sugar cookie dough isn't as popular as chocolate chip cookie dough. If you're a cookie dough lover, this is the perfect simple treat!
It's super easy to make these festive for any holiday or occasion, just pick up some colored sugar sprinkles! I made a red and green batch for Christmas, which is the batch pictured in this article. I can imagine these in baby blue and pink for a baby shower or mixed pastel colors for Easter. They're also great just rolled in white sugar as well!

Pick up colored sugar sprinkles!
- It's so easy to make these festive for any holiday or occasion, just roll them in colored sugar rather white sugar.
- You can find colored sugar sprinkles in the baking aisle at most major grocery stores in the US.
- Some ideas for how to decorate these: red & green for Christmas, blue and gold for Hanukkah, baby blue & pink for a baby shower, pastels for Easter, someone's favorite colors for their birthday, orange & purple for Halloween, red white & blue for the 4th of July, and whatever you can think of!
Make these ahead and store them in the freezer!
- These are easy to make ahead and freeze, then defrost in the fridge before serving. Store them in an airtight container in the freezer.
Don't eat raw flour!
- Flour is not safe to eat raw. To make the flour safe for consumption, bake it in an oven preheated to 350 F for 5 minutes prior to completing the rest of the recipe.

Edible Sugar Cookie Dough Bites
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups flour
- 8 tablespoon salted butter room temp (one stick)
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- colored sugar for rolling (or use more regular sugar)
Instructions
- Flour is not safe to eat raw. To make the flour safe for consumption, bake it in an oven preheated to 350 F for 5 minutes prior to completing the rest of the recipe. (Click here for more info from the CDC)
- Cream together the softened butter, vanilla, salt, and both sugars in a stand mixer or by hand until fully combined.
- Slowly add in the flour, while mixing, until the dough is completely mixed.
- Portion the cookie dough into balls. I use a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop for this step. Roll them into smooth balls between the palms of your hands. (You can make larger or smaller sized cookie dough bites if you want!)
- Pour some white sugar or colored sugar sprinkles out onto a plate. Roll the cookie double balls around on the plate until they're completely coated!
